ICE-RETENTION TIPS FROM THE MANUFACTURER

To ensure your food stays below 40 degrees Fahrenheit, surround it with ice to extend its freshness. It is recommended by the FDA to keep perishable goods at this temperature to prevent spoilage. For optimal results, always layer ice on top.

Coolers regulate the temperature of the items inside, so using plenty of ice will result in colder temperatures and longer-lasting ice. Keeping the lid closed will help maintain the cold air inside and prevent warm air from entering.

Pre-chilling your food and drinks before placing them in the cooler will also help them stay fresh longer. Placing the cooler in the shade will prevent it from heating up quickly due to direct sunlight and extreme heat.

When arranging items in the cooler, layer them from bottom to top as follows: Food-Ice-Food-Ice, always making ice the top layer. Freeze or pre-chill your food beforehand for optimal ice retention. Ensure that your cooler is properly sealed and locked to resist bears, certified by the IGBC.
